Govt. of Nueva Vizcaya According to initial reports from his friends and family, Carlos Padilla passed away on Friday morning at the age of 78 from a heart attack. At the time of this writing, no specifics regarding his sudden death have been made public. Padilla was serving his third consecutive term as governor when he oversaw the opening of a fresh vegetable depot at the Nueva Vizcaya Agricultural terminal two days earlier, on May 3. Ruth, his wife who was also governor, and his children, Carlos "Jojo"ll, Maye, and Carlo paolo, were all left behind.
The lead representative burned through 29 years as illustrative of the Solitary Area of the Nueva Vizcaya, remembering 6 years as assemblyman for the Batasang Pambansa during Military Regulation. He was also a house Minority Leader and Deputy Speaker once. Padilla was mayor of the then-undivided Dupax in Nueva Vizcaya in the middle of the 1970s. He continued to be mayor of Dupax Del Norte even after the town of Dupax was divided into three parts. Alfonso Castaneda and Dupax Del Sur are the other towns. In General Assembly Resolution No. 2023-013, the League of Provinces of the Philippines expressed gratitude to the late governor for his dedication to serving his people and offering sincere condolences to those he left behind.
