Commentary by Alex Vejar | August 15, 2022, 1:18 p.m. Commentary: At times, it feels impossible to connect with NBA players in any meaningful way. However, there are times when they do or say something that makes us like them.

One of those moments recently occurred for former Weber State star and Portland Trail Blazer Damian Lillard.

On camera, Lillard was seen getting out of his car to get a box of food that he had accidentally left on the roof. It would appear that he pulled over to get out and get his lunch while the traffic was moving.

The video was initially shared on ESPN's official website before being reshared on Kay'la's TikTok account. It seems like Lillard knows the individual who took the video since he can plainly be seen giving the individual recording a major grin as they drove by. On TikTok, the video has received 1.3 million views.

White styrofoam appears to be the material of the food box. "Our MVP goes to Panda like the rest of us!" was the response from one TikTok commenter.

Lillard is a great illustration of the everyday man. He has remained loyal to the team that drafted him, despite numerous opportunities to leave Portland and pursue an NBA title in another city. The Standard-Examiner reports that he invites a WSU player to his elite camp and returns to Ogden each year for an alumni game, where he played all 40 minutes last year.

Is Lillard a chow mien guy, then, if Panda Express was in fact what he was eating? Does he choose sweet and sour pork or orange chicken? Is he a fan of egg rolls?

Lillard was fortunate enough to have sufficient resources to remember that his food was on the roof. He dialed back in, just like he does on the basketball court, despite the fact that it appeared to be a brief lack of focus.
