Max, the streaming service that was previously known as HBO Max, has officially given the Harry Potter television series a shot.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, David Zaslav, the chief executive officer of Warner Bros. Discovery, made the announcement of the new service on Wednesday during a presentation. The service combines the original HBO Max with Discovery+ and the marquee series based on J.K. Rowling's books.
According to a statement from the newly branded Max, the live-action series, which is based on all seven books in the series that were published between 1997 and 2007, will become a "decade-long series produced with the same epic craft, love, and care this global franchise is known for." The series, which will have a new cast to inspire a new generation of Harry Potter fans, will be packed with the amazing details, beloved characters, and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have adored for more than 25 years.
