Another Zaman Park operation being planned during Eid holidays, Imran Khan tells LHC 2023


  17 April, LAHORE – On Monday, a petition filed by PTI Chairman Imran Khan seeking a stay on action against him in 121 cases was referred to the full bench for hearing by a two-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC).


Justices Tariq Saleem Sheikh and Farooq Haider wrote in a note that the entire bench was already hearing the same petition. They requested that this petition be brought before the same bench for hearing from the chief justice.


Barrister Salman Safdar, Mr. Khan's attorney, stated at the beginning of the hearing that there were daily threats of arrest and that cases were being filed against his client. He added that police stations were being used to score political points and that the police were always the complainants.



The lawyer stated, "It is impossible to face a plethora of cases at the same time," adding that his client would be appearing in nine different cases before Islamabad courts.



He informed the two-judge seat about conceivable activity at Zaman Park in last long stretches of Ramazan or during Eidul Fitr days to capture the previous chief.


The PTI chairman addressed the court at one point, saying, I know that Zaman Park will see the start of another operation. I request that you stop any such operations because I fear there will be bloodshed.


While alluding to the decision alliance, he said they needed to dispense with him out of dread of rout in races. " Kindly prevent them from such tasks," he argued.


In the mean time, Punjab government's advice Ghulam Sarwar Nahang brought up criticism regarding the Mr Khan's request, contending that it expressed that the solicitor ought not be captured and arguments ought not be enlisted against him. He stated that the investigation by the police could not be disrupted. He stated that fears prevented the petition from being filed.


The bench heard arguments, then referred the matter to the chief justice so that it could be resolved before the full bench.


In the petition, the head of the PTI has appointed the


federal secretary for the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Law, Ministry of Defense, Secretary Cabinet Division, Punjab Chief Secretary, Secretary of the Home Department, IG Punjab, Anti-Corruption Establishment Director, NAB, and FIA.


He additionally made the state head of Pakistan, Pemra, and the Political race Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as respondents in the request which states 121 FIRs have so far been enrolled against Imran Khan in Quetta, Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore.



He has asked the court to stop working on the cases that have been filed against him until the court makes a decision on his petition. Additionally, he sought an order to immediately halt the criminal proceedings against him.
