The single comes from Miley Cyrus' most recent collection, 'Perpetual Summer Get-away', delivered on January twelfth, 2023
Miley Cyrus hit a major achievement with her hot single for the year, Blossoms.
According to Variety, a new study by the music sales data resource Luminate found that Cyrus' chart-topping hit accounted for 1.16 billion of the one trillion global music streams on March 31, 2023.
Endless Summer Vacation, Cyrus' most recent album, is the source of the single. It was released on January 12 of this year. Flowers debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart on January 28 and held that position for six weeks. At this point, it is ranked second.
According to a press release from the singer's record label, the song also became the most streamed song in a single week on Spotify.
Fans have criticized the song ever since it was released because it makes references to the singer's long-term relationship with her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth.
In 2009, Liam and Miley met on the set of their movie The Last Song. They ended up staying together for a decade, albeit on and off.
The fact that the song was released on January 13, 2023—also Hemsworth's birthday—was the most obvious clue.
The song's opening lyrics talk about how their multimillion-dollar Malibu home was destroyed by a wildfire in 2018 and how their relationship fell apart over time.
Some fans have suggested, based on other reports, that the song suggests Hemsworth had a secret relationship with his co-star Jennifer Lawrence.
She is stunning 😍
