Humza Yousaf shares 'unequivocal' support for plans to create buffer zones outside abortion clinics

Protestors recently assembled at Sovereign Elizabeth College Clinic (Picture: Daily Record) 138329041097 Humza Yousaf has expressed his "unequivocal" support for plans to construct buffer zones in front of abortion clinics in order to ward off protesters.

Gillian Mackay, a Scottish Greens MSP who has presented a members' bill on the subject to the Scottish Parliament, met with the First Minister recently.

Whenever passed at Holyrood, the regulation would make 150 meter safe access zones which would prevent against fetus removal campaigners from focusing on clinical offices.

Mackay was informed by Yousaf that his government would provide any additional assistance necessary to advance the bill.

In Scotland, the Royal College of General Practitioners and the British Medical Association lend their support to the legislation.

When the plans went out for consultation, more than 12,000 people submitted responses.

The Record revealed last week how a specialist defied enemy of early termination protestors outside a Glasgow maternity unit.

After nearly six weeks of protests, approximately 100 40 Days for Life members gathered yesterday at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for their final vigil.

Dr Greg Irwin, a specialist at Glasgow Kids' Emergency clinic, pummeled the gathering saying they are 'harassing' ladies going to the emergency clinic to look for fetus removal medical services.

At the residence of Nicola Sturgeon and Peter Murrell, SNP FINANCES PROBE, officers were observed setting up a tarp and taking photographs of garden tools.

Dr. Irwin urged passage of the buffer zone bill in a message to Yousaf. Peter Murrell was released without charge. Cops leave after two days at Sturgeon's. Humza Yousaf acknowledged that members of the SNP would be "bruised" by the recent events. Yousaf also denied that the SNP was in "cahoots" with the police.

He stated: As you can see, we have well over 100 demonstrators. I sincerely hope that you will pass Gillian Mackay's buffer zones bill as soon as possible. Right now, protesters are outside my hospital."
