Imran Khan alleges police chiefs planning another 'assassination plot' against him
Lahore: Rana Sanaullah, Pakistan's Interior Minister, made the startling observation that the country's ousted prime minister Imran Khan was the "enemy" of the PML-N, stating that he had brought politics to the point where "he (Imran) will get murdered or us."
The remarks of the senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N), who is very close to former premier Nawaz Sharif, caused a stir in political circles, particularly within Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.
After surviving a gun attack on him in November of last year at a rally in Wazirabad, Punjab, Imran Khan identified Rana Sanaullah as the perpetrator. In his application for an FIR, Imran Khan, 70, also mentioned Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a senior ISI officer for their roles in the murder plot.
On Sunday, Sanaullah gave an interview to a few private television channels and stated: We or Imran Khan will both be killed. He has now elevated the politics of the country to the point where only PTI or PMLN can remain. We will go to any lengths against PMLN to settle a score with him because his entire existence is at risk. Politics has become a source of animosity for Imran Khan. Sanaullah declared, "Imran Khan is now our enemy, and he will be treated as such."
Inquired as to whether such comments could bring about disorder in Pakistan, the priest said: " Pakistan already has anarchy in place. Fawad Chaudhry, leader of the PTI and former federal information minister, issued the following strongly worded response to Rana Asmatullah's statement: The PMLN coalition government poses a direct threat to Imran Khan's life in this manner. Is Sana Ullah in charge of the government or a gang? "His statement is evidence that the Supreme Court correctly declared the Sharif-led PMLN to be a Sicilian mafia," he stated.
Because it poses a clear threat to Imran Khan's life, the PTI has also urged the Supreme Court to take note of this.
"If anyone is unsure of Rana Sana Ullah's intention to kill Imran Khan. This is an immediate danger given by the secrecy of evildoers' inside serve. In a tweet, PTI senior leader and former minister Shireen Mazarin stated, "The judiciary should take note."
According to the PTI, a ruling party in Pakistan has never publicly declared the assassination of a popular leader.
