The 15th Men's FIH Hockey World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national field hockey teams hosted by the International Hockey Federation, was held in 2023. From January 13 to January 29, 2023, it was held in Bhubaneswar at the Kalinga Stadium and Rourkela, India, at the 20,000-seat Birsa Munda International Hockey Stadium. On January 5th, 2023, Hockey India released the world cup's anthem, "Jai Ho Hindustan Ki." This was written by Prem Anand and sung by Sukhwinder Singh. Germany won their third title by beating Belgium, the defending champions, 5–4 in a shootout after the regular-time match ended 3–3. The International Hockey Federation announced in December 2018 that the 2022 Hockey World Cups would be held either in July 2022 or January 2023.[5] The International Hockey Federation received the following final three bids for the Men's 2022 World Cup.[7] India was confirmed to host the tournament in January 2023 in November 2019.[2] For the preferred time window of 1–17 July 2022:

Malaysia, Spain, and Belgium all withdrew during the preferred time period of January 13–29, 2023.
